Native to Florida

This native vine is frequent in Florida’s floodplain forests, cypress swamps and hammocks (Wunderlin, 1998). It produces quantities of purple grapes for the wildlife. It flowers from spring through fall.

Pepper-vine is one of four species of Ampelopsis in the U.S. Pepper-vine is found from Florida to Virginia to Illinois to New Mexico (Kartesz, 1999).
