Climbing aster is a native woody, viney shrub of Florida’s swamps and riverbanks. It is commonly found in the peninsula and west to the central panhandle. Aster carolinianum flowers in the fall.
In Florida alone there are over 25 species of Aster (Wunderlin, 2003). Climbing aster occurs in the southeastern U.S.
