Sweet or soure orange (a feral citris hybrid) can occasionally be found growing in hammocks and disturbed sites in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee Counties. It is native to southeast Asia but escaped cultivation. Orange trees bloom in the spring (Wunderlin, 2003).
