Ctenitis sloanei
Common Name(s): Florida tree fern
Native to Florida
The rare, native Florida tree fern is the only tree fern in the continental U.S. (A couple of others occur in Hawaii.) It is occasionally found growing in moist tropical hammocks, often in exposed limestone from Manatee and Polk counties to the southern peninsula of Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). This one was found in Ft. Lauderdale.
