Native to Florida
Origin: Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico1
The native Catesby’s lily is frequent in moist flatwoods and savannas throughout Florida. It flowers in the summer and fall. There are six Lilium species occurring in Florida (Wunderlin, 2003), two of which are exotic. Catesby’s lily is located in the southeast segment of the US (Kartesz, 1999).
