Also known as trumpet honeysuckle, this species is commonly found in floodplain forests and hammocks from the northern counties south to the central peninsula. It blossoms in spring-summer. There are 2 Lonicera species in Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). Coral honeysuckle is located throughout the northeastern US and parts of Canada (Kartesz, 1999).
