Picramnia pentandra

Common Name(s): Florida bitterbush

Native to Florida

Florida bitterbush is a rare small tree, in Florida found only in the hammocks of Miami-Dade County (Wunderlin, 2003), but also occurring in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands (Kartesz, 1999). Bitterbush might be mistaken for the native marlberry (Ardisia escallonioides) or the non-native shoebutton (Ardisia elliptica).
