The Florida flame azalea has a limited distribution. It is present in Georgia and is rarely found in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi (Kartesz, 1999). It is occasionally found in hammocks and floodplain forests in Baker county and the central and western panhandle (Wunderlin, 2003). Florida flame azalea blooms in the spring.
